German courses and integration courses
"Hilfe von Mensch zu Mensch" is the biggest provider of integration courses in Munich. At the moment, we are offering 23 courses at 16 different locations. In this way, we can offer many people in Munich an adequate course close to their home.
A lot of these courses take place in elmentary schools and secondary schools in Munich and are aimed especially at the parents of the students. Thus, our association is the biggest partner of the department for schools in Munich for the project “Mama lernt Deutsch” (“Mom is learning German”).
With our courses, we want to get migrants to actively participate in life in Germany. For this reason, classes don’t only take place in the classroom, but field trips in and around Munich, celebrating common festivals (also together with school classes), and visiting institutions like a library together are also part of the program in our courses. So, our participants learn to get along in Germany quite fast.
In addition to the courses, we can often offer care for children at many locations. We have trained a lot of our supervising tutors specifically for helping children under 3 years with the language. While the parents learn German, the children are playfully lead to the German language.
You can register for our courses every Tuesday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 02:00 p.m. and every Thursday from 01:00 p.m. – 05:00 p.m. The non-recurring registration fee amounts to 20,00 €.
If you own a confirmation of the entitlement to the participation in an integration course (“Bestätigung der Berechtigung zur Teilnahme an einem Integrationskurs”), please bring it to us for the registration. We need the original document.
In case you came to Germany in 2005 or later, you automatically receive this confirmation from the District Administration Authority (“Kreisverwaltungsreferat”) or from the District Office (“Landratsamt”) in charge of you.
If you are unemployed, the job center can issue you such a confirmation. With this confirmation, you are in this case automatically exempt from the cost of the course.
Besides that, you can request such a confirmation at the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (“Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge”) too. You can also make this application at our office at the above mentioned registraion times for a fee of 10,00 €.
Usually, the fees for the courses amount to 1,00 € per lesson, thus 100,00 € per module. Thees fees are to be paid at the beginning of a module. In case you receive social benefits such as unemployment benefit, or you have only little income and a big family, then you can apply for exemption from the fees. This application can also be made to the above mentioned registration times. Then we need:
- if you are unemployed, your confirmation of unemployment benefit
- if you are employed, an evidence of wage, rent (contract or statement of bank account), and child allowance (confirmation of statement of bank account).
For further questions, please consult Mrs. Hamzic-Suljic or Mrs. Brieger by phone every Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 09:00 a.m. – 02:00 p.m. and every Thursday from 09:00 a.m. – 05:00 p.m. at 089/54 37 96 67.
